Beyond Our Walls

Friends of the Night People – Our congregation serves a full dinner to an average of 150 people at the Friends of the Night People, a soup kitchen on the Westside of Buffalo, on the third Friday of each month from about 3:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Several volunteers are needed to donate food they have prepared or purchased for the dinner. Additional volunteers are needed to transport the food, serve and clean up.

Ken-Ton Closet – Nativity is a partner with the Ken-Ton Closet, a non-profit program that supplies clothing and other basic needs of daily living to children (newborn to 18) living in the Village of Kenmore or Town of Tonawanda. In addition to financial support, members collect gently used clothing, new school supplies, and other items for this neighborhood mission.

Refugee Ministry – Over the years, Nativity’s congregation has sponsored newly arrived refugee families through Journey’s End Refugee Services. Volunteer opportunities include providing transportation for our sponsored families to the store and to medical appointments, helping orient them to their new community and with learning to speak English.
